BUDGET VOTE: MAY 18, 2010
The Red Hook Faculty Association encourages all eligible voters to get out and support the 2010-11 budget.
With a 5.99% tax levy, the district is planning on eliminating/reducing the following programs and positions:
RED HOOK CENTRAL SCHOOL BUDGET CUTS (still subject to change)
ELIMINATIONS:
- Administrator (Retiring in January)
- District Office Clerical: Central Registrar
- .8 ELL Position
- 2 Elementary Regular Education Positions
- 1 Reading Position
- 1 Special Education Teacher
- .5 Social Studies Position
- .5 Music Teacher Position
- Astor Counselor
- CAPE Counselor
- 5 Teaching Assistants
- Various Varsity Assistant Coaches
- Teacher Aide
- 1 Library Clerk
- 1 Custodial Worker
- .5 Transportation Dispatcher
- 4:15 LATE BUS
- 1 Senior Typist
REDUCTIONS:
- 30% reduction of ARTS IN EDUCATION
- Another 10% from building/ department budgets
- 90% from Professional Conferences
- Building Condition Survey
- Integrated employment
- CTI enrollments
IF the 5.99% Tax Levy Vote DOESN’T PASS on May 18th, these are the next cuts that will be made: (subject to change)

- FIELD TRIPS
- 50% REDUCTION IN CLUBS
- MECHANIC
- CAPE/ASTOR/GUIDANCE
- ELL/MUSIC
- 4 REGULAR EDUCATION TEACHERS
- READING TEACHER
- 2 CUSTODIAL WORKERS
